Blog Roll

Castro Dead?

Babalu blog thinks so.

This is one of those nifty gray areas of the 'sphere, where we get to be either just far enough ahead of the MSM who has certain confirmation duties or so far ahead we look like complete jackasses.  For example, every story about Iran crumbling from the inside.

But let's hope that this is true, and that Cuba is about to turn a corner. And thank God he lived a full life and won't end up on some "rebelious" teenagers t-shirt because old men with scraggly hobo beards are creepy, not icons.

This is just plain stupid:

--A group of Muslim men praying at a Lewiston mosque were thrown for a jolt when somebody     threw a severed pig's head into the mosque. Police arrested a man on Tuesday who said he     thought it was a joke.

I have no idea who thinks that's cute, or clever, or funny.  But let's hope he gets his sense of humor realigned right quick.

The Oddity of TownHall's Blog Filters

Language filters are not a good idea.  Besides, they are inconsistent to say the least.

Acceptable to town hall? A blog named: Left Wing=Hate
Unacceptable language? Said Blog posting a story about Rush Limbaugh and Viagra.

Heck I got blocked for saying the word "pass" earlier, no idea why.  I know that the Townhall folks have reason to want to protect their forum, but this probably isn't the most prudent method.  I plan on sticking around while the kinks are worked out, but only because I'm mirroring this content with my other blog at typepad.  http://inre.typepad.com  Hopefully this is just the growing pains associated with launching a massive new blogging system....

Nintendo wishes President Bush a happy birthday

Looks like Nintendo is walking a fine line between flattery and mockery with their gift to President Bush on his 60th, a Nintendo DS and a copy of Brain Age.  I can't help but get a chuckle out of this one.  The letter to President Bush is below.

Dear President Bush:

Happy Birthday!

Don't worry, turning 60 is an exciting milestone. As you know, you've joined millions of other baby boomers in an invigorating new decade of your life. And, like many boomers, you may be looking for ways to keep your mind sharp. That's where we come in.

Please accept our gift of a new Nintendo DS Lite system and a copy of Brain Age: Train Your Brain in Minutes a Day. You now join millions of people around the world who have fun challenging themselves with Brain Age. If you have never played a video game before, don't worry. Brain Age is part of our new Touch Generations brand, which includes games that are easy for people of any age - regardless of their video game experience - to pick up and start playing immediately.

It's obvious you don't have a lot of time to play games, which makes Brain Age such a great activity for you - just a few minutes a day with more than 15 daily training tests will help keep your mind sharp. Training tests include categories like math, reading and memorization. Try it for a few days and watch your score improve. Brain Age also comes with more than 100 sudoku puzzles - these could make your next long flight on Air Force One a bit more fun! (Perhaps copies of Brain Age for journalists joining you on your next flight would be a nice distraction!)

Have fun exploring Brain Age with your Nintendo DS Lite and be sure to let us know your brain age! Have a tremendous birthday!

Sincerely,

Your Friends at Nintendo

Recount in Mexico and "found ballots"

It looks like the Left candidate in Mexico's Presidential Race is demanding a full recount.  Considering how close the election is at this point, I can't blame him.  However, the reports about "found ballots" by the thousands are cause for concern. 2.5 million ballots have been found, significantly altering the race margin.

The question becomes whether these votes become subject to tampering on a significant scale when days go by before being counted.  At the very least, according to Narco News the IFE was holding back these votes and misreporting the percentage of ballots counted.  Very curious behavior to say the least.

I know the Washington election for Governor was decided by "found" ballots, and some of those were of dubious authenticity.  Here's hoping Mexico has better luck and a speedy resolution.

Antisemitism in the Lamont campaign

Antisemitism in the Democratic party continues to go unabated, see this story regarding the Leiberman/Lamont primary:

Lamont, who has little political experience, has called Lieberman a Republican lapdog and accused him of straying from his Democratic roots. Liberal blogs have given a boost to Lamont and call the race a chance to send a message to the Democratic establishment.

One parade float, organized by Lamont supporters, had a sign calling Lieberman a "RAT" _ Republican Apologist and Turncoat.

That is not a coincidence.  That is an intentional play on what has historically been a popular slander for jews.   For example there was the Nazi films such as Jew Suess likening jews to rats needing extermination.  This crap is being displayed proudly by the far left of the democratic party. Pathetic.
